impact – making men cry – i love you

hello.

i love you.

how did that make you feel?

if it made you feel in any way positive please advance to number 1. below.

if it made you feel in any way negative please advance to number 1. below.

1. will you try to help me?

great.

today or tonight i’d like you to tell three people that you love, but don’t tell them enough, that you love them.

imagine the impact of that.

that’s nearly four thousand people being told they are loved.

how cool is that?

but here’s the really cool bit.

after you’ve told them you love them, explain what prompted you to tell them.

and then ask them to do the same thing, tell three people that they love them.

but they have to tell the three they tell to keep the love chain going, by passing it on.

in theory if everyone does this we will cover the world with messages of love, making people feel warm and fuzzy, prompting conversations, and the planet will glow so bright it will be seen from outer space.

now when i sit down to write this blog i don’t have a scooby doo where it’s gonna go, and i think you have just witnessed that in action.

let me know how you get on, i’d love to know the impact.

this week i went to cotswold outdoor to buy some running poles aka “holding me up” poles, and i made an impulse purchase of some patagonia shorts, and this morning i decided to wear them to write the blog, it’s warm in the uk at the moment, so just my black patagonia shorts, no climbing socks, my winter blog writing attire.

i digress.

the label on the shorts read “we’re in business to save our home planet”

i love patagonia, mainly because of their ethics and culture as a brand.

and as a brand they have impacted me massively, and i have recommended this 27 minute mini doco before, but please watch the beautifully shot piece of storytelling, it is so wholesome.

worn wear: a film about the stories we wear

impact is something i love measuring, and at bigmoose we create impact reports for lots of our fundraisers, and this last fortnight has seen us present a number of these reports, and seen strong men cry at the impact that their efforts and fundraising have had on bigmoose and the people we help.

i truly believe the power of storytelling for a charity or any business is paramount.

i witnessed this first hand this week when i went to the smoke to see, hear and meet ’swoon’ the artist, talking about her exhibition at the woodbury house gallery, which opened last night.

‘swoon’, aka caledonia curry, told her story of her influences, her pain, her grief, her loss, and during her q & a was moved to tears, and when my mate i went with, who is a very successful street artist in his own right, and i spoke after her talk, he confided in me that he felt inspired to let his art tell more stories, to grow and evolve, such was the impact.

remarkable.

storytelling and raw emotion creating life changing impact.

thanks for reading.

i love you.

blue skies,

jeff
