Want to hear more from Jeff? Every Friday, he shares a blog packed with stories, insights, and all the incredible things happening here at Bigmoose over the week. It’s a chance to get a behind-the-scenes look at the impact we’re making together, the lives we’re changing, and the big dreams we’re chasing.
subscribe heregood morning bigmoose friend,
firstly, apologies for no blog last week, i could fudge the reason, but i’ll be transparent.
i went out thursday night with two great buddies, and for the first time in over nearly five years, i got rip roaringly boozed, and the walk from the taxi would have made comedic viewing, parkinson’s and alcohol are not happy bedfellows, though i laughed a lot in the evening, and at one point it actually hurt, we were all laughing so much.
but friday mornings blog was destined to never happen, and i cannot believe that i didn’t predict this days before, but i didn’t, and i apologise.
so as well as being somewhat foolhardy since i last wrote, i’ve also managed to grind out a half marathon, which i was pretty pleased with, and it has spurred me on to push a little further, I’m not sure about how far yet, but i feel i have more in me, never give up.
i have put my running(ish) exploits on social media, to see if i could possibly inspire someone with parkies, and even without to be honest, to step out the front door, and possibly stretch themselves physically, and definitely mentally.
and this week i had a big confirmation, when a girl on instagram sent me this.
what a great return on posting a few stories, and showing vulnerability, i take that as a win.
so i’ll keep pushing myself, and sharing the journey, you never know what might happen, to be continued.
continuing on a running vibe, we have now sold 550 places in our 2025 ultra fun run, which leaves us 5519 places to sell our target of 6069, one place to represent every person that we lost to suicide in england and wales in 2023, can we do it?
i believe we can, and if you wish to join us, in cardiff, or remotely, as i know we have many international readers, click on the link below, we’d love to see you, and this would be a great stocking filler or secret santa at only £15 per entry.
i have a meeting today with a parent of a child represented in that number, and thoughts of how they must feel starts to come into my mind, i cannot even imagine the pain of that kind of loss, but i am going to ask them if they will work with us, as kind of advisors, to help guide us, whilst hopefully giving them some purpose after their loss, i hope they say yes, i think it will be a good thing, for all of us.
another thing that we will be doing for the ultra fun run is buying these amazing medals, which you plant that contain wild flower seeds, so you plant the whole medal, and wild flowers grow, annually, so 6069 clusters of flowers. to commemorate every person lost, cool eh?
and the icing on the cake is that for every medal purchased, the company will plant a tree in memory of the person.
our whole team fell in love with the idea, it seems so perfect, i hope you agree.
so if you want to be part of this amazing event, and are interested in either sponsoring the event or paying spaces forward, contact me here.
