good morning bigmoose chum,
how’s the craic?
i love the word ‘craic’ and said with an irish accent it sounds like verbal honey, sweet, soft, warm, and i have no idea why i have used it this morning, except possibly i met bernadette rudduck, who hails from dublin yesterday, and her velvety tones born of the emerald isle, have washed over me.
who is bernadette ruddock?
she is the wife of grand slam winning rugby coach mike, who i met very recently at a talk i did in the penderyn distillery in swansea, the second of four talks i have been booked to do for the ultra group, which is a group whose website says this:
ULTRA is a confidential monthly business mastermind for busy CEOs, MDs, Directors and Key Execs of successful businesses from different sectors.
It is a trusted, ‘express’ club of peers for like-minded leaders, chaired by ‘Leaders of Leaders’. There are groups that meet in England and Wales in the early morning or mid afternoon.
i loved the first group i talked to in cardiff, and subsequently was booked for another three talks for other groups, which i have to admit now i have parkies was a great confidence boost, and at the second talk met the aforementioned mike, a lovely gentle giant of a guy, with a sharp wit, and intelligence obviously needed to be a great leader of men, and we immediately hit it off.
jamie breese, mike rudduck, yt, rupert moon.
soooo, yesterday i went to meet jamie breese who founded the ultra group, and who is now going to be getting involved with bigmoose with a very exciting project later this year, and mike was just finishing a meeting with jamie, so we had time to catchup and chat about mike’s covers band ’the gowertones’ and stuff they play, stereophonics, the beatles, etc.
mike’s wife bernadette then joined us, an immediately likeable lady, with a bubbly happy personality, a perfect compliment for the giant, effervescent mike.
as we chatted jamie asked bernie to tell us her george harrison, lead guitarist of the beatles story, and it transpired that bernie’s mum was george’s auntie, and bernie, a gifted raconteur, regaled us with tales of this icon of british music.
i love storytelling, and am only just realising its power, and i am really embracing how it can help me and chloe grow bigmoose.
my goal as i recently shared with you, is to do 12 talks in 2025, and it is going well, and i recently got booked to do a tedx talk in july, at the senydd, (welsh parliament) which is super exciting and scary in equal measure, and the tickets went on sale yesterday, selling out in 4 hours, no pressure.
so in general things are super exciting, both personally and charity wise, and next week i will divulge our next big bigmoose project, this one is our biggest yet, and just gave me butterflies in my stomach just thinking about it!
as well as outlining our objectives for q2-q4 of 2025, so you can hold us accountable.
i also wanted to update you on numbers.
3463 people referred through our service.
100% of them receiving communication within 24 hours.
100% of them being offered a therapy session within a week.
our average social value bank number per graduate £8,374.
number of people who, unprompted, told us we saved their life, 96.
big numbers.
especially for a team of seven.
thank you for your help and support.
till next week,
blue skies,
jeff
