tickets are now live for bigmoose ultra fun run 2026.
after an unforgettable 2025 ultra fun run – where thousands of you came together to run, walk, and fundraise – we’re back for 2026, and it’s set to be our biggest and most impactful year yet.
at bigmoose, and with your help, we’re creating a future where everyone can access the mental health support they need, when they need it.
whether you run, walk or jog, you will save lives. simply choose a distance which works for you – 5k, 10k, half marathon, marathon, or a 50km ultra marathon.

ouch,
no good morning, just ouch.
why ouch?
i have been lazy.
extremely lazy.
i haven’t been for a run for ages.
which is ridiculous, as i know the health benefits, both physically and mentally, and yet i’ve neglected this most basic and easy access activity.
or have i been lazy really?
i love writing this blog every week, as it often gives me eureka moments.
and i’ve literally just had one.
yesterday i went out in the rain and i ran for two miles, and as i climbed the white enamel painted spiral staircase to my office this morning, my legs hurt.
i now know why i’ve struggled to run.
i haven’t got a goal.
i’ve unlocked the door.
i need a goal.
it all makes sense now.
i don’t operate well without an objective.
give me a target and i get laser focused, without one i just cruise, engines purring.
give me a goal and i’m in, all in.
is this a blessing or a curse?
i’m probably biased with my answer, maybe ask the people around me.
what prompted me to run yesterday?
i decided earlier this year to run an ultra marathon, which i last did in 2016, see pic above, long before parkies, so this time it’s going to be a bigger challenge, but that’s the only size worth attempting right?
so with almost half the year gone i need to get a shake on and be brave.
i did a little research, and discovered an array of races available, many more than 9 years ago.
and then ran two miles.
getting out the door was the win, and the pain this morning is my sign.
i’ll book a race today, and hopefully you’ll come with me on the journey?
which leads me onto another goal.
last week i very unintentionally misled you, saying that i would be sharing our next bigmoose goal today.
but unfortunately we’ve had to delay the launch by a week, but hopefully it’s worth the wait.
the reason being we have our inaugural bbc. (bigmoose business club.) next thursday, which is a two hour get together of businesses that we know, getting to meet each other over cocktails and mocktails, and we have decided to officially launch it there, and we just want to avoid spoiling the surprise, i know that probably sounds knobby, but hopefully it’ll make sense, i am so excited.
in other news i have just finished reading this book, which has been a game changer for me, teaching me so much about storytelling, and as a follow on from last weeks ‘big retreat’ story of two ladies committing to fundraise 20 large, the lady who owns the festival, amber lort-phillips called me last friday night, and long story short, has committed to fundraising £10,000 too, so one talk has resulted in three people fundraising £30k, a phenomenal impact, so you just never know who is watching, listening or reading, so i guess the learning is keep telling stories, whenever and wherever you can.
this week i started reading this new book, and two chapters in, it’s brilliant, it’s about business and life, i’ll report back.
so until next week, always assess don’t assume.
blue skies,
jeff
