sold out – books to change your world – q1 great success

good morning dear bigmoose blog reader,

we did it.

or rather, you did it.

you bought, with your hard earned cash, 6069 bigmoose ultra fun run places.

some to run virtually, all around the world, but the bulk of the 6069 people will arrive at bute park in cardiff on the 13th april, to walk, run, laugh, cry, make new friends, reconnect with old friends, and to remember the 6069 people lost to suicide in england and wales in 2023.

what an amazing feat, and i’d like to thank you for reading this blog, buying tickets, sharing our social media messages, telling your friends, and basically showing me, and our team that we can achieve some pretty lofty goals, and hopefully we can provide inspiration if you have a dream, to never give up, as whilst it might seem impossible now, if you take just the first step toward your dream, it gets closer, and closer.

i have had nearly 62 laps on this magnificent place, and there’s not a day that goes by that i don’t learn something new, and whilst on this ultra fun run journey i have been reading. reid hoffman, the founder of linkedin’s book, ‘masters of scale’, which is brilliant, and full of great stories, and inspo for, unsurprisingly scaling your world, and it feels like it’s no coincidence that reid and i connected on this ufr adventure.

as i read the last chapter of reids book, i had that wonderful feeling where you don’t want it to end, but it unfortunately does, and then you are left with that other feeling that the next book you read can’t possibly live up to the previous ones greatness.

but it has.

i opened john doerr’s ‘measure what matters’, and i feel the first chapter is going to change my life.

dramatic or what?

distilled down, it is a simple system that intel and google, among others use, which simplifies business and goals, and i can’t wait to share the principles with our team, and on the three chapters i’ve now read, i highly recommend it.

as well as apparently starting a bigmoose blog book club, selling out our biggest event ever, we have also had one meeting with a big business, to be announced soon, who have chosen us as charity of the year, and they have two annual balls, one black tie, and the other fancy dress, and the energy in the meeting was electric, so that’s very exciting, and yesterday chloe and i did another talk for a company we are working with, which again had a wonderful energy, and as we near the end of our first quarter of 2025 it has been extremely thrilling seeing so much growth in what we are doing, both on the numbers of referrals we are helping, and the amount of people who are supporting us.

so, again, a big thank you, and if you need or know anybody that needs help, just click here.
