i'm in
apologies for lack of blog last week, i was in cornwall for a wedding, and thought i’d be clever mc clever, and have enough time to write a remarkably witty, philosophical, poignant, stoic, witty, (did i say witty?) blog.
but that didn’t happen.
but i did manage to tie my own tie.
winner.
i was gonna insert a parkies joke here, but know that some unnamed family members don’t like them, so i won’t, and i definitely won’t mention the parkies podcast i’m doing today called ’shaking it up with parkinsons’. see what they’ve done there?
genius.
so it’ll be interesting (for me) to see how this one hits, new territory for me.
let’s hope i don’t regale the famous line from ’shrinking’ the tv show with harrison ford, playing the character who is diagnosed with parkinsons, and constantly says.
“f*** parkinsons”
i guess they can edit it out if i do.
for some reason my own parkies seems to almost be noticeably improving, i’m not sure if it’s the meds doing sterling work, or the beechband i am wearing, but whatever it is, i feel great at the moment.
i just thought of tanias friend who she recently spoke to, who without prior warning came out with “f*** parkinsons” before she had mentioned she watched the show, very funny, and very out character, which made it funnier.
so i navigated the wedding on thursday (one tie), the ‘child of wales awards’ on friday (one bow tie), the cardiffian community awards saturday (velvet dinner jacket, t shirt, no tie), and the cardiff half marathon pre and post bigmoose hospitality sunday (flat cap, t shirt and black chelsea boots, no tie)
i seemed to have reduced my sartorial elegance by the sunday event.
tiffany, me and chloe
the lovely angie beasley and my bow tie.
former homeless friend j’lo who won an award, awesome guy.
stu, flat cap, and geth.
so, social events done, we had a problem.
we had only sold 37 out of the 100 spin bikes we needed to have riders on the remaining 63 bikes to make the project £1 million 3.0 event have energy and fundraising potential.
so we were honest, and vulnerable and we went to social media, asking for help.
we needed to fill 1506 hours of riding, and we have a deadline of the 15th to hit before we cancel the event.
no pressure.
so if you are reading this, and fancy riding a spin bike for an hour or two, which helps the event go ahead, and us to fundraise, and get exposure, please sign up here.
thanks.
and finally.
you know when that artist that you dm’d on instagram writes back and says he’d love to be involved in your ‘art4good’ project?
and you know when that same artist tells you he has curated over 60 international art exhibitions, and he’ll curate yours for nothing?
and you know when he says he knows a number of ‘a list’ artists who he will ask to help us?
yeah, that happened.
exciting and scary in equal measure.
just how i like to live.
until next week, have a goodun, i’m off to pod.
(where’s my tie?)
blue skies,
jeff
