subscribe herewe are beyond proud to share that the bigmoose ultra fun run has been officially accredited by she races for actively committing to gender equality.
whilst women now make up over half of runners globally, they make up less than 20% of starters at longer races – just 16% at ultramarathons in 2018.
she races are on a mission to level out the start line, providing women with an equal opportunity to run at events and have the right experience when they do. they aim to remove any barriers that women may face when participating in running events.
we are so proud to have been recognised for the event, and will continue to strive to ensure our events are inclusive to everyone.
“it was from the outset one of the best organised runs i have attended.”
“i loved the fact it was as inclusive as it was – this made a massive difference.”
“the best facilities i have been to and i have raced for 30 years!”
“i’ve done loads of races on my own, but this was my daughter in a wheelchair’s first 10k. i was so proud we did 10k together. this event was amazing.”
“the facilities were excellent – i felt very safe.”
partnering with she races helped us bring that vision to life, with 67% female participation at our latest event!
by following their guidelines including inclusive facilities, communication and diverse marketing, we’re making sure our events truly reflect our values of inclusivity and representation. we’re proud to have she races’ accreditation and to keep pushing for equality of every kind in every run we host.”
