after an unforgettable 2025 ultra fun run – where thousands of you came together to run, walk, and fundraise – we’re back for 2026, and it’s set to be our biggest and most impactful year yet.

at bigmoose, and with your help, we’re creating a future where everyone can access the mental health support they need, when they need it.

whether you run, walk or jog, you will save lives. simply choose a distance which works for you – 5k, 10k, half marathon, marathon, or a 50km ultra marathon.

enabling inclusion at the bigmoose ultra fun run

we are beyond proud to share that the bigmoose ultra fun run has been officially accredited by she races for actively committing to gender equality.

whilst women now make up over half of runners globally, they make up less than 20% of starters at longer races – just 16% at ultramarathons in 2018.

she races are on a mission to level out the start line, providing women with an equal opportunity to run at events and have the right experience when they do. they aim to remove any barriers that women may face when participating in running events.

we are so proud to have been recognised for the event, and will continue to strive to ensure our events are inclusive to everyone.

how we are making the ultra fun run inclusive

when we created the ultra fun run, we knew we wanted to ensure it was as inclusive as possible so we implemented she races’ guidelines into our event planning.

we are committing to these guidelines to ensure that the ultra fun run welcomes everybody. this includes:

levelling the start line

using inclusive imagery and language in our event marketing
providing as much information as possible about the logistics of the event to participants, both on our website and sent out directly via email before the event
allowing women who fall pregnant before the event to defer their entry to a future event

equalling the experience

inclusive and sufficient toilet facilities, including a female-only area and every toilet stocked with sanitary products
a no-tolerance policy for harassment of any kind to ensure women feel safe before, during and after the event
giving an option of women’s fit as well as unisex fit t-shirts

learning & improving

actively seeking feedback from participants and making our best efforts to improve the experience every year
reviewing our compliance with the guidelines on a regular basis
