charity for life, not just a year – ring that bell – butterflies in my stomach

good morning rockstar,

how are you?

i hope if you were within earshot i would hear a cacophony of “we’re great thanks jeff” a bit like when chefs in a kitchen announce a new order and their team answer at high volume “yes chef”.

which reminds me, i have just discovered ’the bear’ which is a tv show about a high class chef whose brother dies and leaves him his sandwich shop, which he goes back to chicago to operate.

it is full of great characters, and i’m four seasons late to the party, but very worth a watch.

yes chef!

my week has been super fun.

yesterday afternoon i did my 11th talk, and my 5th talk for the ultra groups, which was fun as my mate will fuller attended, which added an extra layer of nerves to the gig, but it went well, and at the end multiple people committed to fundraise £10,000 and take part in project 1 million 2.0, and a person i can’t name at this moment, who runs an annual black tie event, that raised £40,000 last year, announced to the group that she was choosing bigmoose as her charity of the year for 2026, winner winner, chicken dinner.

yes chef.

so talks are definitely a great way of outreaching, and are going to form part of my plan for the second half of the year, so if you know anybody you think would benefit from a talk about resilience, facing and overcoming challenges, sprinkled with some anecdotes that have seen audiences laugh, cry, and occasionally spontaneously applaud, please help me get in front of more people, anywhere in the world, wherever you are reading this, i will travel, and i think an international talk has to be a goal for 2025.

as well as yesterday’s talk, on monday we had gareth selway, a contact from a previous ultra talk, come in and sign up for a bike, and ring the office ’success bell’.

tuesday, we reccied the national indoor athletics centre, where we are holding the spin bike event, and i got butterflies in my stomach when i entered the arena, very gladiatorial indeed, and i imagined the atmosphere as we reached one million pounds, it’s going to be the best feeling ever, i literally cannot wait, so if you want more info please message me, i’d love you to join us.

wednesday, yet another ultra talk contact, jon williams, who is an independent financial advisor for high net worth individuals, signed up to a bike, confirmed he wants us be his charity for life, not just a year, and he is going to start referring us to his 200 customer base.

strong week eh?

yes chef.

another thing we achieved this week, which i think is cool, i hope you do too, is we finalised our ‘free bigmoose mental health check’ which we have designed for businesses of any size to do a simple tickbox exercise to assess how well set up they are at looking at their staffs mental health wellbeing.

chloe and i are very proud of this, and if you are interested please contact us below, as i mentioned, it’s free.

which leads us to today, and i have a zoom with a gent, who is potentially going to sign up to a bike at 10, so send me some positive vibes, and i’ll tell you how i get on next week.

and for the last update, yesterday we had our 105th person tell us, unprompted we saved their life.

i love my life, and i love my ’job’ although it doesn’t really feel like a job, it feels way more important than a job, so on this sunny morning, thanks for reading, thanks for supporting, and if you’re struggling in any way, just reach out to us, anytime, we’ve got you.

blue skies,

jeff

p.s. yesterday i ran a 5k personal best, up yours parkinsons.
