good morning bigmoose friend,
did you get your book?
all books should have been delivered by now, so hopefully you’ve had a chance to read a little of darrens wisdom, and for those of you now watching darren daily, i hope it provides some positivity for you.
apologies for the late blog today, i naively arranged an 8.30am meeting for this morning, which i should never have done, because one ‘non shaky’ finger typing, means i ain’t getting my blog written, putting out the rubbish, navigating those lunatic early christmas shoppers driving into town, believe me they exist in october, and i bet they put their bins out the night before, with bottle screw caps taken off and correctly placed in the metal and plastic recycling, unlike the woman i share my life with, who obviously thinks that it is amusing to set me rubbish recycling obstacles.
the out of date frozen peking duck with shrink wrapped pancakes and plastic container full of mouthwatering plum sauce, in a very cardboard box, cannot, and will not be put out in the brown food bin, for those draconian rubbish nazis that collect our weekly refuse to sniff out like pigs hunting truffles, and then gleefully leaving law breaking items for me to learn the error of my ways.
i feel confident that had i succumbed to the ring doorbells marketing and subscribed to their monthly video recording access service, that i would spy said council employees high fiving each other as they leave the offending box of costco duck, along with a few paper items, just like a sprinkling of confetti, or maybe i’m just imagining the worst in people.
so my plan today was to hit the ground running, coffee, 10 pages of reading, rubbish shenanigans, shower, beat the traffic, write blog in the office.
a different order of doing things, but i’m nothing if not adaptable.
i rushed into taking this meeting, and have lambasted myself for putting myself under additional pressure, but as i walked towards our office, shrouded in darkness, i repositioned my mindset.
i need to make this meeting brilliant.
i need to get the two businessmen who are coming to meet me, at 08:30 hours to fall in love with bigmoose, and commit to help us on our journey.
so here i sit, at 08:05, setting myself a challenge.
can i encourage these two entrepreneurs, one of whom i’ve never met to commit to fundraise £10,000 in 2025.
so, i am going to close my laptop now, and then come back to finish it, and judge myself, no fricking pressure smith.
i’ll be back…….
it’s 09:38 i’m back.
now in my defence, as i mentioned before, i have never met one of these chaps, and as they entered our office parkies decided to make me shake as i made a cafetière of the strong stuff for them, one thing i’ve learnt is that parkies is indiscriminate with its timing.
i was consciously shaking as i poured their java.
we walked to our couch area, and i felt the meeting was going well, as we talked about our life journeys.
i liked them both, and felt we had very similar values.
then i needed to be brave, i needed to ask if they would like to raise £10,000 in 2025, i felt the adrenaline running through my body.
deep breath.
unfortunately they did not want to raise £10,000 for us.
fortunately they wanted to raise £20,000 for us.
yes, what a high!
i love it when people are passionate like mike and mat.
i then got a bit emosh.
what a lush. start to a day.
