kidney transplant – £390,000 – 109 saved

good morning bigmoose blog readers, and if this is your first read, welcome.

this blog isn’t and won’t be a logical read, as i literally sit down every friday morning and write whatever bounces, tigger like, into my mind, which can often end up in discombobulation for one or all of us, so bear with us, and hopefully stick around, to see if together we can break the code.

this morning as i climbed the spiral staircase, cold metal under barefoot, to my office, i realised i had left the windows open to cool the previous days mid afternoon temperature, but now at 5.21am, coffee in hand it was chilleeeeee.

i retraced the steps i had taken the previous day, to cause me to leave said windows ajar.

it was simple.

at 4.16pm i received a whatsapp from chloe, with a picture.

for blog readers who don’t know, my youngest daughter, and cofounder of bigmoose, chloe, currently has 15% kidney function, which means she needs a kidney transplant, and i will explain the picture she sent.

we have been on this journey for some time, and when i say we, i mean as a family.

if you have or don’t have children, i’m sure you can imagine how challenging it is, watching your baby in constant pain, constant turmoil, and constant flux.

but we are now at a stage, after multiple people offering, then withdrawing their offer to donate their kidney, where we have no direct match, so it’s plan b.

there is an nhs pool of people nationally who need kidneys, but have no direct match.

what they do have are donors that could match somebody else.

so, the way the pool works is chloe, who needs a kidney, and crawford, chloe’s partner, who is willing to donate his kidney, but isn’t a match for chloe, go into the pool, and if there is a similar couple, who need a kidney, like crawford’s, and have a donor willing to donate to chloe, the kidney gods align, and on the same day the four of them go into surgery at the same time, and emerge with two healthy kidneys transplanted, and the two recipients lives improve measurably.

the kidneys need to sync up, and there are always possibilities of rejection, but hopefully the transplant works beautifully.

the picture chloe sent through was the amazing news, that her and crawfie have a potential match, which could be life changing in the truest meaning of the phrase, and the joy on both their faces is truly wonderful.

chloe is extremely resilient, and i can’t wait to see her after transplant, as i know she has so many more gears to shift into, which will be a great thing for the world.

so we will stay positive, and i will update you on her progress weekly.

in other news this week, we have signed up our 39th bike for project 1 million 2.0, which is £390,000 pledged, so we have a long way to go, so if you fancy joining us click below for details.

project 1 million 2.0

on a personal note i booked my 17th talk of the year this week, and if you can help plug me into anybody that has a business that needs a speaker at an event, uk or worldwide, please drop me a message.

and my favourite number to report, 109

109 people, unprompted who’ve told us bigmoose saved them from suicide, congrats everyone, your support makes this number keep growing.

that’s it for another week, thanks for reading, and please send chloe and the kidney gods good vibrations.

have a wonderful week,

blue skies,

jeff
