doubters, again – pregame nerves – £100k per month

good morning bigmoose chum,

i hope you’ve had a brilliant week?

mine has been full of pregame nerves, preparing for our biggest bigmoose event ever.

now when chloe and i started bigmoose we did not expect to be employing six people, putting over three thousand people though therapy, saving people from taking their own lives, having running costs of nearly one hundred thousand pounds per month, yes you read that correct, per month, and having a sold out running event with 6069 people running, all around the world in memory of those we lost in 2023 to suicide in england and wales, things have definitely grown quickly.

but the mental health crisis that i feel we are in, needs us.

it needs me, chloe, our dedicated team, our therapists, and it needs you, our bigmoose community.

but. we’re here, and we’re ready.

where our leaders are letting us down, we’re here, and we ain’t going away.

chloe and i did a strategy day this week, and we are super stoked about the future, and have some really exciting things going on later this year, and the future looks bright, but for now the focus is very much on the 13th april, and the ultra fun run.

it is making me feel like times in my life where i have been full of adrenaline.

standing in the corridor at a packed wembley arena before stepping on the ice to play in the championship final, listening to the deafening sound of the crowd.

sitting in an aeroplane, engines roaring as they took me to my first solo freefall skydive.

standing in the burning hot sahara desert, as the thunderous sound of ‘highway to hell’ played, and me and a thousand plus runners prepared to run six marathons in five days.

laying in my tent at camp 4, breathing oxygen through my mask, with the wind battering our tent, prior to our summit push on everest.

i absolutely love this feeling.

though, we have had doubters.

doubters who have voiced their apprehension of whether we could sell 6069 tickets.

well we have done what we said we would try to do, and sold out.

but even this week the doubters, fresh ones i might add, have voiced concerns over whether we can pull off such a big event.

this really frustrates me, as it rocked our two girls who were on the call, and introduced unnecessary fear into them, why do people have to behave like this, surely it’s better to encourage and be cheerleaders?

but we have prepared meticulously, and i couldn’t be prouder of chloe and our girls, and their bravery to attempt what seemed a very lofty goal when we first discussed it.

we are currently sitting at a £40k fundraising total, with £95k pledged, though we are dreaming of hitting £200k which would be double our biggest fundraiser to date, so if you are in a position where you can donate, to help us to continue to provide our fast efficient service and giving hope to those that publicly funded services are letting down, we would be very grateful.

help us to change lives

by writing this blog this morning it has motivated me, i think i am going to use the doubters negativity to spur on our social media push to raise funds, and use it as fuel, sometimes out of adversity comes victory, wish us luck, COME ONNNNNNNN!!!!

see you next week,

blue skies,

jeff
