65th life saved – happy 102nd birthday – chocolate pasties

hi bigmoose purposeful people,

thank you for your emails telling me what you’ve been up to, it sounds like lots of you pushed yourselves, congratulations, keep pushing.

my favourite tale wasn’t actually inspired by last weeks challenge, but by this blog always encouraging people to step outside their comfort zones.

so, after last weeks blog, i received a message from a young man, who had decided to push himself outside of his comfort zone, by doing some stand up comedy, drastic, powerful, and flipping brave i think.

well, he did it, he sent me a video clip of his performance, and he was great, my personal favourite observational piece was where he references a chocolate pasty,

or as it’s otherwise known, a pain au chocolat, i don’t think i’ll ever see one again without using this reference.

his performance went down really well, to a packed house, and i will be intrigued to find out where this adventure takes him, and when he gets back to me, hopefully granting me permission, i will share the link to his set.

the other very cool thing is he did all of this as a fundraiser for bigmoose, and he has raised over a thousand pounds!

how wonderful is that?

that will on average pay for 2.5 people to go through a complete course of therapy, purpose indeed.

which leads me onto some other cool numbers.

this week we had our 65th person, unprovoked tell us they were on the path to suicide before bigmoose’s intervention, so gary cloonan, if you’re watching us, hopefully you’re proud of what your legacy is achieving.

the other powerful number is 118.

which today, 20th september, we have had 118 referrals so far this month, which puts us on course for our biggest month of referrals ever.

this for me is daunting and challenging in equal measure, and for our awesome team, inspires us to dream big and continue to strive to grow our much needed charity, and we are currently working on our biggest project to date, an event in 2025, which is going to be so big, so powerful in it’s reach, and is going to catapult us into another league, and as you can probably tell i’m a little excited, so we are launching it in a couple of weeks, and i will be sharing the details, and encouraging you to join in, very soon.

as i’ve now mentioned 2025, who fancies doing some fundraising for bigmoose in 2025?

stepping out of your comfort zone, doing something crazy, something nobody would expect you to do?

for inspiration have a watch of 102 year old mannette baillie, who recently became the oldest woman to skydive, on her birthday, and she speaks of “never giving up”, what a girl!

back in 2021 when we dreamt of project one million, which i’m not sure i’ve ever told you (:p), but we managed to achieve, we embarked on our mission by attempting to find 100 people or businesses to help us fundraise £10,000, but it was a lofty, some said laughable goal, with reputational risk attached.

but do we want to stay safe?

never knowing what our potential is?

or, do we want to stretch ourselves, pushing ourselves further than we’ve ever been?

scared, full of adrenaline, full of fear of failure, but standing on the edge of the metaphorical plane.

ready to jump.

well if you’re reading this thinking, “i could do something big, something life changing, i know i could, i just need someone to help me believe i can.”

well this is your time.

this is your moment.

to jump.

to feel the wind beneath you.

to fly and become what you are destined to become.

and bigmoose are here, to encourage you, to cheer you, to link arms, and walk confidently into 2025 with you, with a plan to change lives.

yours firstly.

then others by the effect of your fundraising.

so if this is you, contact me, and let’s create a plan, a dream, and let’s have an amazing 2025 together, we can do it.

and if anyone decides to fundraise ten grand, i will guarantee to personally help guide you to success.

have a fantastic week, i will be going to west wales to the ‘why we run’ event, https://itswhywerun.com/ which i am really excited about, and hopefully lewis and his awesome team reach the £100,000 fundraising they are aiming for.

and finally craig and aimee from kinging-it (https://www.kinging-it.com/) present their first youtube vlog about their recent amazing ‘castle to castle’ challenge this sunday evening, check them out:

thanks for reading, see you back here, next week,

blue skies,

jeff
