2nd chapter – here comes the tsunami – 2025 plans

good morning bigmoose chum,

how’s your week been?

mine has been very much about the 2nd chapter.

what do i mean by that?

well chloe and i spent the day yesterday working on our strategy for the rest of 2024 and 2025, and concluded that this is the 2nd chapter in the bigmoose adventure.

we have turned from a dad daughter duo with a huge yellow storage unit full of dreams, into an award winning, fully credible charity, doing some staggeringly good work, with a fantastic team of similarly passionate gooduns, who are helping us help others every day.

it is a landscape we dreamt of, and project one million, our heady self imposed target of fundraising one million pounds, which we achieved in a crazy 486 days, which still blows my mind, is now baked into our dna and forms a powerful part of our dream big culture.

as leaders of our team and the direction of the charity, it is a huge responsibility, and one we both take incredibly seriously.

hence the 2nd chapter.

the 1st chapter of the story is now written, actually getting charity status, which is no mean feat, getting a physical place to work out of, recruiting a team, building a group of honest, supportive, wise trustees, and then putting our heads above the parapet, and attracting over eleven thousand people to financially support us by donating their hard earned cash, no easy task in a very crowded charity sector, and through a very tough time for our society with huge interest rate increases and massive inflation.

if we were to risk assess whether january 2022 was the right time to set sail on this challenging voyage, with storm clouds overhead, and lightning on the horizon, there would no doubt be naysayers, who would assess the risk to be too high, but as franklin d. roosevelt said “a smooth sea never made a skilled sailor.”

so we have collected some laurels along the way, but believe me bigmoose friend, we have no intention of resting on them, we have much, much, more work to do in this mental health arena that we have chosen to call home.

so what does the 2nd chapter look like?

well we need to be creative, and we still need to stick to our basic plan.

get onto people that are struggling with their mental health’s radar, link them up with brilliant therapists, and pay for their services.

three very basic, uncomplicated steps.

finding people that need us, is happening organically, with over a 500% increase in monthly referrals since january 2022.

expanding our therapists network to cope with the uplift in clients is working, and we are recruiting well.

the bit that requires work is the funding required to pay the bills, and this is our biggest challenge to date.

we have to be ahead of the tsunami that is coming up behind us, and we are very aware of our responsibilities, to stay ahead of the organic growth.

but we have our why to inspire us.

the why is people like kat.

that is our inspiration, kat and people like kat telling us everyday how bigmoose has helped them.

helped them navigate their way through this tricky adventure we call life, and giving them hope, hope to carry on, hope to believe, and hope to thrive.

so the 2nd chapter awaits, and welcomes us in.

would you like to help?

we have many ways you can help, and over the coming weeks i will unfold the plans for you to see, and hopefully link arms as we stride forward.

but for now, we have our first plan we need help with.

on average it costs £400 to put someone like kat through a full course of therapy.

£400

to change a life for good.

amazing value, and an amazing return on investment i hope you’ll agree?

so how can you be the first to help our 2nd chapter?

well, as of today we have £500 per month being donated in small monthly donations made by individuals, which is brilliant.

but we need more.

we need an army of people to make regular monthly donations, that can help pay the therapists to help kat and others like her.

we need your help, to help the people that bravely put their hands up for help.

so if you think you can make a monthly donation to help, please click below, you will be helping start the 2nd chapter beautifully.

thank you.

and as always if we can help you or anybody you know that is struggling, hope is just a click away.

are you looking for support?

i hate to be too salesy in my blog, but hopefully you understand i have to do my best, my best to help those that need us.

and the 2nd chapter needs to be a great read.

till next week,

blues skies,

jeff
