waiting lists kill – rebrand sneak preview – abuse doesn’t always leave bruises

welcome to the next chapter of bigmoose.

new look.

new vision.

new dreams.

i hope you’ll come with us on this journey to become number 1.

but let’s start at the beginning.

recently chloe and i had a strategy meeting, and we both felt that whilst we were achieving far beyond our wildest dreams when we set up bigmoose, we need to do more.

our model works.

it’s simple.

it’s efficient.

it’s effective.

no need to change it.

we just need to amplify it.

more therapists.

more reach.

more people helped.

more lives saved.

so.

in 17 minutes we changed our font, added a full stop, which represents our visual representation of our spotty tee shirts, and removed ‘leaving the world better than we found it’ changing it to ‘saving lives’, more tuned into who we are in 2026.

an evolution leading to revolution.

we are changing gear, we are becoming more ambitious, we are dreaming bigger than we’ve ever dreamed before.

risky.

challenging.

fraught with danger of failure.

and there’s only one thing worse than that, and that’s not trying.

living a safe life.

cruising into mediocrity.

no thanks.

take the risk or miss the chance.

so we started to plan.

and we shared our thoughts with our team, our friends, our trustees.

there were a few sharp intakes of breath, but. everyone bar none was in.

last night we had our bigmoose business club, where we presented for the first time, our new vision, and the passion and energy in the room was awesome, and the feedback has been super positive.

and we had 6 signups for bikes in project 1 million 3.0, £60,000 of commitment, proof of concept i think.

so, i’m gonna share some of the slides, with an explanation, so you have a sneak preview, before we launch tonight.

here we go.

1.7 million people on current mental health waiting lists, enough to fill 19 wembley stadiums.

our current numbers, 7313 referrals since 2022, all contacted within 24 hours, and given a therapist appointment within 7 days, leading up to 155 people telling us, unprompted we saved their lives.

the current way lots of mental health marketing looks.

but……

we’re going to start saying it as it is.

more edgy marketing and messaging.

thought provoking, hopefully prompting more action for people to reach out for help.

and here’s the big one.

we want to become the biggest. and most effective mental health charity in the uk.

our calculations are 1.7 million on waiting lists.

it costs us £487 per person we help.

1.7 million x £487 = £828 million.

our social value on helping 1.7 million people would be £14 billion.

(the current uk nhs mental health budget is £18 billion)

so what do we need?

the same as we did in 2022, more therapists, and more money.

there are currently 50,000 therapists in the uk, and we need funding from government or privately.

so we have a lot of work ahead, but…..
